A few uncharacteristic acts

As your mom Susan pulls into the McDonald's drive through, you try to think of some way to find out for sure that what you think has been happening is for real. Your mom asks everyone what they want and you listen to their orders as you give her your own. Your older sister Brenda asks for a salad, as usual, since she's a vegetarian. Your eyes light up as you know what a test will be.

"Brenda, you're changing your order to a Big Mac because you haven't tasted meat in a long time and want to try it again," you think to yourself, and wait with baited breath.

"Mom? I want to change my order. Get me a big Mac instead of a salad," you hear Brenda say from her seat behind you.

All eyes turn to her, shock on everyone's face, except yours, that is.

"What?" Brenda looks back at everyone. " I haven't tasted meat in a while and just wanted to try some again, that's all," she explains in exasperation, then turns to look out the window, a look of confusion on her face.

You smile and now know for sure that whatever you think, happens. You can actually control the minds of others. First it was Nurse Cooper showing you her breasts and letting you feel them and now it's Brenda, the vegetarian, ordering meat. As your mom pulls up to the window to get the order, you find another opportunity to test your new found ability.

"Offer to pay for it Aunt Sally," you say in your mind.

"Here Susan, let me pay for this," she says in mere moments after you thought it.

Your mom looks at her with a stunned look. Aunt Sally's always been very tight with money and would never pay for anything that wasn't deemed, in her mind, a necessity.

Susan finds a parking spot, and you all munch out. Being socially conscious as Brenda is, she makes sure all the containers are sorted appropriately before Susan puts them in the marked garbage bins.

As your mom pulls out of the lot to head for home, you wonder if you should try it out on strangers, because everything you've tried so far is on people you know. You're excited at the prospect and wonder if you should head straight home, or make a stop along the way to do a little more experimenting with your power.
