Chapter 21

Where to follow up?
A few days later, when your 'vacation' is over
You were honestly excited to get back to work. Maybe it was anxiety. You wondered how many critical systems Rosh'dan would let fall apart before he questioned a superior. You sighed, you can't fault the guy for that. You don't get far as a spacer being a rebel without a cause. You knew Gurwa would keep the station from falling apart at the welds.
Thinking of her, she was the first thing you saw when you entered central maintenance. Her voluptuous form facing away from you. Staring at her wide and plump ass, you swore it looked bigger. Either way, you stepped up behind her and slid your arm around her waist.
"Oh! Good morning, Mr. Zambac." She chirped and turned towards you to hug you tightly, her plush belly squishing against you. You debated commenting on her looking bigger, you still weren't 100% sure how she felt about it. Not even 85%, which would've at least been statistically significant. Did she know how felt about it now? You thought all the handsy-ness would've made it obvious. Hrm. You squeezed her back.
"Good morning, Gurwy." You pecked to top of her helm, and she giggled.
"Have you spoken to Gunna lately? Since you used her nickname for me." she tried to tickle your sides to get back at you.
"I'ven't, why?" You furrowed your brow at her
"Well, she got together with Brianna. Thought you should know."
"Not like you to gossip."
"Yes. It's a bit of a stress reaction." Gurwa stayed against your chest, "Rosh'dan is just.. I'm used to working with you, you're efficient, surgical, a big cutey."
"I don't remember putting that on my resume." You squeeze her sides a bit
"I know, but, he just does whatever Erin tells him, and barely speaks, and when he does it's inane at best or some awful story from when he was on a freighter. Just, I'm glad you're back, Mr. Zambac." Gurwa gave you one last squeeze before going over to her station to get her bag ready for the day. You went over to the computer terminal, still missing that one key. You cracked your knuckles dramatically and tried to log in. You could, but then you tried your bypass of the ticket system. Denied. You tried getting around it again, and the system locked, then spat out four tickets.
"Ugh. Locked out. I guess Erin really doesn't want me messing with her way of doing things." You sigh and slowly get up from the console and look at the tickets. "Why, of all things, is this the one thing she won't budge on?"
"Rosh'dan told me, that she told him, that she made the ticket system. Rosh'dan then went on for an hour about how proud Cerothites are of their creations." Gurwa informed you
"So I mess with the ticket system and it's like I'm messing with her baby. Okay, that makes sense, but the order in which they're distributed is the issues. She needs to get her priorities straight."
"I think it might be the only modicum of control she has over her life." Gurwa said
You paused, "She's really getting to you, isn't she?"
"Yes. She is. Especially after she made Rosh'dan Lead Maintenance."
"Wait she what? I have a contract." You say incredulously
"Yes, you do. She blocked me from accessing the mail system to send a message to her supervisor about it." Gurwa picked up a ticket and read it, rolling her eyes.
You turned visibly red. Then it faded. "Who is her supervisor?" You asked aloud, mostly to yourself
"I couldn't find out."
"Right, but I had a flowchart in my contract and ... " you go to your locker and pull out the tablet that contained your secure download of the original contract, scrolling to the Structure section, you found that her supervisor was...
Who, or what, is your supervisor?
