A different idea

"So I've been thinking" Rose said later that afternoon. You were back in your back yard, sitting by the pool on the couch with Rose having put her head in your lap.

"What about?" you asked as you idly played with her hair.

"What if we go elsewhere on vacation than the Caribbean?" she wondered.

"That sounds fine" you said. "Where to?"

"Somewhere we can drive" Rose said. "Did you hear about that plane crash a few months ago?"

"Yeah, wasn't there like one survivor who spent that entire time on an island on her own?" you asked.

"Yeah, a female marine. That's a pretty sad story" Rose said. She looked pensive for a moment. "Can you imagine that being us?"

"No thank you" you said. "I'd much rather prefer us staying safe on the ground."

"Then you won't get to see me in a bikini when we go swimming in the sea" Rose reminded you.

"We could just go to a pool" you said with a shrug.

"Point for you" Rose said, smiling. "So do you think we should go somewhere else?"

"Sure, why not? Just pack our bags, hop in my car, and see where we end up" you said.

"That sounds like great fun" Rose said, taking your hand and squeezing it.

"You two planning on getting away from here?" Rebecca's voice said, coming from the sliding doors.

"Yeah" you said, looking up at your big sister.

"Good" she said with a grin, "I can't stand listening to you two fuck at night any more."

"Hey, we're very quiet" Rose replied, "so unless you were spying on us, you wouldn't have heard much." You smirked. Your girlfriend had gotten so good at parrying Rebecca's teasing over the past few months you'd been dating. You were so proud of her. You offered her a fist, so Rose grinned up at you and bumped it.

"So you have been having sex" Rebecca said.

"Come on, look at her" you said, "you would tap that as much as you could."

"No comment" your big sister said with a smile as your girlfriend laughed out loud.

"So, you ready?" you asked.

"Yep! I got everything! Do we still need to swing by your place?" Rose wanted to know.

"Nope, already said bye to everyone. Do we need to visit your folks?" you said.

"We could. Vi's there, though. She might keep us for another three hours" Rose warned you.

"I don't mind" you said with a smile. "We can stop wherever we want, whenever we want" you reminded her.

"Really? Does that mean you're warming to Violet?" your girlfriend said with a smile.

"I've mostly forgiven her for cockblocking me that one time" you said, "plus she hasn't been able to do so again. It's all good."

"You are fantastic" Rose said, standing on her toes to kiss your lips gently.You answered it and held her close for a while before letting to.

"Thanks honey" you said as you parted from the hug. "Let's get going then."

"Hi guys" Rose's mom Aimee said.

"Hey mom" your girlfriend said, smiling as she hugged her mom. "We just wanted to say hi before we go on our vacation."

"Oh that's nice" Aimee said as she also hugged you. "Are you going to take good care of my baby girl?" she asked you.

"Of course I am" you told her with a smile. "I love her, you know."

"Thanks" Violet said as she walked into the kitchen. "But what about Rosie?" Your girlfriend giggled and hugged her sister.

"You're the worst, you know that?" she asked. This made you laugh, as that accusation often flew back and forth between you and Rebecca these days.

"I do" Violet confirmed. "Hey handsome, you been looking after my sis?"

"Sure have" you said, smiling as you looked at Rose.

"Enough to give me a niece or nephew soon?" Violet asked.

"Vi!" a shocked Rose exclaimed, her cheeks red.

"Mom and dad want a grandchild, you know" Violet continued.

"So you decided to egg us on?" you asked with a laugh.

"More or less" your girlfriend's sister told you.

"Never say never" you said with a wink.
