Lucy slowly entered the room. Making her way to the center, she looked around several times to try and find... anything. What she didn't notice was the door slowly closing behind her, locking shut with an audible click. "Shit!" Lucy whirred around towards the door, grabbing the handle to find it was firmly locked. Lucy tried to remain calm. Maybe this was some kind of test? Clearing her head, she looked at the wall that had been hidden behind the open door and saw a control panel. Lucy tapped the blank surface, hoping it was a touch screen, as there were no visible buttons. After a few moments, Lucy assumed nothing had happened. Then, she heard a voice come from seemingly nowhere.

"Hello, Ms. Wallace. We're so glad you could join us here at Hycondrex Labs! We trust you are excited to begin your internship, but first, we have some entry briefing to take care of." The lights dimmed and one of the walls manifested itself into a large screen that portrayed pictures and graphics related to the various topics the voice discussed. "As we're sure you're well aware, your qualifications placed you in our top-secret C-5 laboratory. Here, we carry out some of our most advanced, detail-oriented, and sometimes controversial experiments! You should know that this is highly irregular. We have never had an internship candidate be added to anything beyond normal clearance. If you accept, and pass our screening exam, you'll be welcomed to participate in some of our cutting-edge projects. Sounds great, right?"

Lucy knew it! Maybe secretary was just a cover-up because she was really going to be working on advanced experiments! She temporarily forgot about the strange reception thus far, and started to get excited about the possibilities of what she was getting into! The screen continued to talk, but Lucy wasn't listening. She was so relieved that she might be doing some actual biology work! This was going to be great!

The voice continued, and Lucy finally resumed listening, "...but that's perfectly normal. We here at Hycondrex Labs pride ourselves and our employees for going the extra mile, and internships are no exception! If you agree to these conditions mentioned, please sign the all-inclusive employee agreement on the terminal."

Lucy was still starstruck. She hurriedly walked over to the console, where a stylus had revealed itself from a side compartment, and signed on the line, without reading any of the fine print.

"Excellent! We will have more paperwork for you, but for now, this agreement allows us to run some checks and tests on you. Please, Ms. Wallace, remove your clothing and place it in the drawer below the terminal." The lights returned to normal from their dimmed condition.

"What?" Lucy said out loud. This couldn't be part of the screening. What purpose would it serve? Lucy tried to think of some way this could be a joke, or maybe she was in the wrong exam room... Something wasn't right.
