A chase!

Jessica scrambled to get all the words written down. She refused to let this go undocumented, even if it risked her life. She could see the holigraphic scanner in her peripheral, it had got very close to her feet. She practically scribbled the last words and slammed the book shut. The reporter thrusted herself forward and ran further into the alley.

Unfortunately, Jessica's quick dash had made a loud noise and thrown dirt into the holographic scanner. The drone released a loud shriek noise and pursued Jessica. One look back made Jessica panic, all she saw was the terrifying red glow of the drone. "Do not resist. Go back to your pen." The drone bellowed down the alley.

Jessica pulled a confused expression, did the drone think she was an animal? She asked herself, praying that was not the case. The drone was gaining on her, as Jessica swiftly turned right and followed the warehouse round the corner. The further she ran, the sounds of the drone seemed to fade. She could barely see the main dirt track ahead of her.

Jessica almost stumbled onto the dirt track. She quickly looked behind her, no sign of the drone. Jessica bent down and rested her hands on her thighs to catch her breathe. "What the fuck was that thing?" She muttered between breathe.

Jessica nearly jumped out of her skin, the loud shieks frightened her. She turned around, fear and dread built up inside. With all of it's lights switched off, the drone hovered directly infront of her. It was almost the same size as her! Jessica was suddenly blinded by the bright spotlight from the drone.

"Animal has escaped, securing now." The drone announced. Mechanical arms stretched out from it's sides and attached themselves to Jessica's armpits. The reported screeched as she was hoisted into the air. "PUT ME DOWN NOW! FUCKING DRONES!!!" She shrieked.

The drone shone a holographic scan over Jessica's entire body. "Determining species." The drone announced. "HUMAN! I'm human!! H.U.M.A.N!! Dipshit!!" Jessica yelled at the drone, she tried to convince it that she was not an animal...
