A Walk in the Woods

Wind rustled the leaves in the canopy above Nina and Summer as they walked in awkward silence down a random path that wound through the trees. Nina stole glances at summer digesting the situation, before her, every time she did her chest tightened at the sight of the petite brunette walking beside her in a stupor. Her chestnut hair glistened as it caught shafts of light filtering through the trees as the pair moved down the path.

“Summer...” Summer continued for a few steps after Nina broke the silence, stopping suddenly and turning to regard the address. She looked into Nina's eyes pleadingly. “I want you to know that you are a great person and I like you as a friend...”

“What the hell is this?” Snapped Technician One.

“She maybe letting her down easy.” Replied Technician Two.
