A Wait and See Approach

She couldn't be too nasty, nor did she want to interfere with Peter's mind at all. To him, that was his most attractive— er, interesting feature. Hypnosis or anything of the sort could negatively impact him. No, for now, she would stay back and keep observing. It had only been a few weeks; there was no reason to the experiment because of a lack of confidence... in the experiment.

Peter, for his part, had clocked that something was off about MJ, but he wasn't sure what. It's not that the changes were bad. Rather, they were amazing! But too amazing. Was she hiding something? Was she trying to make up for something? He was a reporter, but the idea of snooping on his wife made him uncomfortable. Of course, he could just ask.

But what if nothing was wrong? She would be hurt by his accusations.

He decided, for the sake of his own sanity, as well as their relationship, he would secretly tail her as Spider-Man. He used to do it all the time until he got to a point where he knew she could protect herself. He knew how to stay hidden.

For the first few days, nothing was off. She went to work, came home, they spent time together, slept, and then did it all over again the next day. Until the weekend. When she was off, and when he was usually out on patrol, he followed her out to a warehouse. He couldn't see inside, nor could he open the door after her. He counted his blessings that, at the very least, his Spidey-Senses weren't going off. Still, it was concerning, especially given the technical level of security in place. She couldn't have done that... Right?

He had to know. With a slight ****, he jumped down from his hiding spot as she left the warehouse. MJ jolted as he landed behind her. "MJ, we need to—"

"I figured this would come out eventually..." She sighed.
