A Strange Invitation

The only reason you didn't fuck Hawkgirl last night was because you were still recovering from being a terminal nanobot patient. Being dead for a couple of hours sapped most of your strength, but when Shayera came to see you, you got at least half of it back.

Thanks to your 'science project', as Wildcat called them...

After a couple of days in the infirmary, putting up with tests to determine if you're well again, you were released and you stretched your legs. And your arms, and the rest of you. You thought back to what Batman and Wildcat said, about you simply having a powerful immune system; that you were just a hero because of your nanobots. Annoyance came in the form of almost twitching your right eye, for you believed that you made yourself a hero, not just your bots.

But you also recollect being in the passenger's seat as your body fought beyond its limits, fending off three tough opponents. But the aftereffects were too much to let your nanites get knocked out again... 'Never again...' you decided.

While you were getting lunch that same day, you spied Hawkgirl at a nearby table amongst the other heroes, smiling at you. You return her affectionate grin and walked over to her. Just then, Diana walked towards you. "Shadow, forgive me. I wish to ask if you will join me for dinner tonight."

"Tonight?" you echo.

"Yes. I intend to go home to Themyscira to have dinner with my mother. And she told me that I could bring a guest with me." She then turned her head to Shayera. "Oh. Was I interrupting something?"

"Not really," Hawkgirl replied. Diana apologized for intruding, and borrowed you to talk in private. She took you outside the cafeteria, and spoke softly.

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm much better, thank you." You smile appreciatively at her.

"I watched your training session with Batman the other day, along with half of the Watchtower. You fought like a true Amazon, and you died like a champion..." Your smile got a bit wider as she got back on track. "Anyway, about my invitation. Will you join me and my mother for dinner?"

It was a tempting offer, and you like Diana, but you felt unsure. "I read that your home is off-limits to men. Are you sure the queen will let me stay that long?"

"This will be," she replied, "just this once, a special occasion. What do you say?"
