A Secret Experiment

Somewhere, at an undisclosed location, an experiment is set up where willing volunteers, who are promised ten grand if they complete it, are taken. None of the test subjects know what the experiment is or what it entails. They are first put to sleep only to wake up in a 100 sqft room with a bed that has bars around it, soft foam matting as a floor and their clothing replaced with a white t-shirt and a diaper.

What is this experiment? Who are the test subjects? How long is this experiment gonna last? And, why the diapers?
