A Run Down
You give Raven the rundown on events explaining why Jinx was here and what happened at the bank. You leave out the fact that you got hurt protecting her, however. Instead, you give her a detailed recollection of the beam that hit her and how the man seemingly vanished into thin air.
"That still doesn't explain why she was kissing you," Raven said almost angrily, staring at Jinx as if trying to kill her worth a mere thought. You pick her up and lay Jinx down in a bed.
"That's what you're upset about? Not the fact that a strange beam knocked you out?"
Raven crossed her arms.
"Look, she asked for a kiss for her to stay here. That was all." You say, trying to settle this augment. "But enough about that, we need to figure out what those guys wanted and what they did to you." You then turn your attention to Jinx, who now has a large bump on her head and was still passed out on the bed. "At least you didn't kill her."
You pick Jinx up and let her down on a bed. "How are you feeling?" You ask Raven as she sits on the medical table, allowing you to check her. "Fine," she says dismissively. She was acting like she did when you first met, distant and cold. "Why are you so worked up over a kiss?" you ask, placing the equipment away and turning back to face her.
"I'm not." She said, sounding increasingly hostile. 'Was she jealous?' you thought to yourself.
"But something is bothering you. I can see that much. Jinx was in trouble. If I had left her, she most likely would've ended up dead. And she saved my life."
"How?" Raven asked, not believing what you were telling her.
"When you were incapacitated. They tried to take you, but I held them off. I had to do something risky, and I let my guard down. If she hadn't been there, I would be dead, and you would be, I don't know where."
Raven stood up from the table and walked over to you, "Is that what this is?" she asked while rubbing the area of your stab, causing you to flinch just a bit. It was clear even with your shirt on that you have wrapped up the heavy bandage stuck out like a sore thumb.
"That's nothing, just a scratch." You say, trying to play it off, smiling at her.
"Not buying it Rider, the first time you were hurt, you tried to play it off as nothing as well."
"' That' was nothing. He just got a lucky hit."
"Three broken ribs and a concussion is not 'nothing'. Was this because you were protecting me?"
"Look, I'm fine, alright." You pull Raven's arms to her side and smile at her. "Were a team, you'd cover my back if the roles were reversed. Jinx will only stay with us till we beat these guys."
Raven stares at you for a moment before turning her head quickly. "She just has a way of pushing all the wrong buttons in me."
"Are you jealous that we kissed?" you ask, and immediately Raven reacts, pulling her arms away from you. "Why? Because she kissed you and I haven't yet."
"Yet?" You question, smiling at her.
"Fine, I do want to kiss you, but I also want you to tell me what really happened" Raven looks at you, Irritated, "Show me your wounds." She said plainly.
"Fine," you said with a sigh as you began to remove your cloak and shirt. You know better than to argue with her. When Raven saw how hurt you got in a fight, she told Cyborg to shut off your training until you were healed. Even Robin knows better than to stop your workout.
Raven stares at you for a moment, completely lost for words as she looks at your bandages and scars. Slowly she brings a hand to your chest, holding it there for a moment. Her hand felt warm on your chest, her fingers gently trailing along an old deep wound on your chest. "How did you get these?"
"It was a long time ago, Raven" you gently move her hand to the bandages. "It was a stab wound. It missed my organs, nothing serious." You smile as Raven continues to look over you, her expression still full of concern. "Honestly, Raven, I'm fine. Trust me when I say I've had worse."
Your words don't seem to ease Raven, her hands now gently resting on your chest." Worse? If this is nothing, what is worse? What happened to you? Who were you before you came here?"
"I'm Rider, that's all you need to know" you hold her hands and pull them away from your chest while looking at her in her beautiful blue eyes." I'll tell you one day, but not today."
Raven went silent for a brief moment before asking, "I want you to kiss me." She said, not moving her eyes from yours. You move a hand to her, check your thumb gently rubbing her skin, slowly you bring her head towards your own Raven who seems to close her eyes before your lips meet.
This was completely different than with Jinx. Raven moved awkwardly, fidgeting as you held her. But she doesn't move away. Instead, she's slowly pushing herself into you more and more. As her confidence grows, Raven bites your lower lip and licks the inside of your mouth. Your hands stay planted on her back, but Raven seems to explore your body, her fingers gently caressing your toned chest like it was a work of art.
Neither of you wanted this to stop, but Raven quickly pulls away, seemingly In a panic. "Raven?" You ask, worried you had done something to upset her. She doesn't answer you, instead of looking at her hands confused.
"Something is wrong." She says, not taking her eyes off her hands. You panic and go over to her, sitting her back down on the table.
"What's the matter?" you ask. All teasing and jokes faded from your mind as you went back into action mode.
"My magic, I can't use my magic."
