A Prince Is Brought Forward

Enola was the last to arrive at the council hall near the beach, but by only a few seconds, so hardly anyone noticed, most were not even seated.

She took her place on the central dais and as soon as the room was settled, opened the meeting. "Poseidon send you wisdom and foresight, councilors, honored guests: I call this meeting to order as Luck Bearer and holder of the Land Right."

She then retired to her traditional seat, but Hellen waived her over to the adult's seats.

"The Chairwoman Recognizes Prince Takaroa Kai Mikaere Akahata of the House of Aperahama, who has journeyed far to present his proposal to the council and who, therefore, may present new business before old business by a special exemption," Hellen said, and the prince rose to walk up onto the speaking platform.

He was tall, and hardy, with dark skin and many tattoos, his eyes were black as coal, with no way to distinguish between iris and pupil, and his hair... Was basically non-existent, he had no hair anywhere on his body that Enola could see. Moreover, he was simultaneously somewhat fat, (but not grotesquely so,) and hugely muscular, which in Enola's eyes made him about the epitome* of masculine attractiveness.
*(Other than the no hair thing, which was a bit off-putting.)
