A Magic Trap

A couple of days go by as the machinations of the HIVE 5 continue to keep you all busy. Mad Mod even showed up, but he didn't last too long against the new and improved Teen Titans.

You meet up with Raven the next time you have some down-time. She meets up with you in the hallway and explains what her plan is. In typical 'Raven fashion,' it is devious.

Once Robin and Cyborg go out on patrol, you and Raven go meet up with Starfire. In the back of your mind, you know that Beast Boy is passed out in his room. Going '100 mph' all the time like he does is a good way to wear yourself out. All the better for you two.

"Star, we need your help with something," you say, approaching her in the kitchen.

"How so, friend Lancer?"

"I made some magical manacles," Raven explains, "We need to see if they would be strong enough to hold someone like, say, Mammoth. Could you...you know, test them out for me?"

"We'd ask Cyborg," you add, "But he's not here. Beast Boy...well, you understand why we didn't ask him."

"I see," Starfire says, "I will gladly help you out. Let me try them out."

"Not here," Raven says, "Let's go to your room. You've got more space in there and less breakable things there."

She nods and leads you to her room. It has been barely-furnished, as she doesn't have a lot of stuff from Tamaran. Raven closes the door and gives you the manacles she made. Starfire presents her wrists to you, but you shake your head.

"It is a better test if you put them behind your back," you explain, "It is how they would be put on a real villain, after all."

She accepts your logic and puts her hands behind her back. She turns around, set up for your properly. You lock the manacles around her wrists tightly.

"Do you want me to test them now," the naive alien asks.

"No, not yet," Raven says, "We haven't finished with you yet. Azarath Metrion Zinthos!"

She speaks her magic words and Starfire starts to float in the air, pulled by the manacles. The spell moves Starfire to her bed and sets her face-first down on it.

"I'm confused," she says.

"We have to test ALL of the manacles," you explain, "Relax. You can trust us."

Starfire nods, a bit nervously, as you grab her ankles, pull them up and lock the manacles around them.

"One more," Raven says, "I saw this on a website, so I wanted to see it. This should contain anyone who can't fly well."

You take the third manacle set and lock one end around the chain connecting her ankles. You pull her legs forward a bit and lock the other manacle around the chain connecting her wrists. You have made a form of a hogtie for your teammate.

Raven speaks her magic words yet again, tightening the chains a little bit more and fully-activating the runes.

"Go ahead," you say, "Try to break free."
