A Hiccup

As Joker begins preperations for take off an alarm starts blaring in the cargo hold as the engineers from the lower decks including Adams, Ms. Daniels and Connelly all come rushing in and run to different monitors, until the Normandy shuts down and everything goes dark untik the emergency lighting kicks in.

"What was that?!" Ashley immediately yelled out to the trio who came rushing in and its Adams who answers.

"A power surge in the engineering depaetment.. We got everyone out but the engine core is offline again."

"Again?" Liara asks quizzically as she walks toward the barely illuminated Lead Engineer.

"Yeah.. Ever since the power surge from the Crucible, keeping the Normandy's systems in-line has been hectic. Tie in the most powerful drive core in any fleet and you have an engineering nightmare on your hands." Adam explains as Ken walks over with Gabby beside him.

Ken immediately pipes up and begins to lay on the technical jargin thickly in his famed accent. "Basically The Couplings locked into a Gamma-Resonance phase multiplied by the element of Pi Squared which lead to an Asotopic over-heating of the main Crestin Reactor which pushed the K-Cogs into a back cycle of fil-"

"Basically, the engine overheated because the sensors inside the Cooling vents malfunctioned." Gabby interrupts Ken midstride to help sum it up.

Liara rubs her eyes and sighs gently. "Can we replace the sensors?" She finally asks as Jack and Ashley continue into the ship, heading up through the air ducts with which Joker had crawled through when the collectors had taken the cerberus crew a year prior.

"If we had a fresh set of sensors, of course. But we don't since every bit of tech in the whole universe short-circuited." Ken says in defeat before Adams pipes back up. "We can build them from scratch. I know the Normandy well enough to put togther good sensors, but we need raw materials and a few hours to get it done." Liara nods at this and tells him to do what he can.

"Oh, Garrus and Tali got here a while before you did and said they needed to speak with you. The ducts should still lead throughout the ship." Adams offers before setting to work.

Liara nods and heads up into the CIC after an aching clinb through the stuffy airducts, where she is immediately greeted by a limping Joker. "Joker.. Can I help you?"

"Yeah!" He yells, but then leans in close. "I need to pee but no one will help me get the bathrooms open!" Liara can't help but stifle a laugh as she follows Joker through the ducts again to the third floor where she uses her biotics to pull the door open. Joker 'runs' in and immediately gets to work while Liara walks off.

"Thanks Liara.!" Joker call after her.

After that unpleseant errand she sets to work finding Tali and Garrus to see what they have to say.
