Chapter 4 by BlindSeer BlindSeer

How to procure these furnishings?

A Heist

Too many eyes are upon you right now, surely they’d be able to track your drones down into the sewers and from there it’s a matter of time before they find you.

You can already imagine what those poor fools would think to do with you, the cure to all of their ills and they’d gut you open on a table to ogle your internals.

No, this would take a more delicate approach, you’ll wait until the sun sets and the humans have entered slumber, that is when you will act.

You recall the drone, waiting as the sun sets, the streets clear, your strength has been gathered, an operation such as this you’ve chosen to attend personally to ensure your every command is processed and received instantly.

Your swarm crawls from the sewers, moving as one unit as they funnel down alleyways and empty streets, every once in a while you’ll pass by a wandering human, much as you regret it, they would need to wait before you could save them from themselves.

You arrive at the target, allocating a drone to keep watch as your swarm pushes into the store, the building is empty however as the front windows shatter a loud siren sounds, wailing into the night.

Your drones grab all they can carry while you empty the register to take this green paper that the humans love so much, perhaps it will come in handy?

As you work, collecting various items of interest you suddenly feel a sharp pain in your neck, though… it’s not your neck.

You rush outside your tentacles crunch the glass as you barrel out the window, there laid out on the cold pavement you find them, leaning over your minions limp body is a figure, when they pull their head back to acknowledge your presence, you see blood smeared across the young man’s face.

Your drone is pale yet you still feel a connection to them, they yet live paralyzed by both blood loss and shock.

“Ah… the fuck…? Tastes…. Like vodka….” the young man says as he slowly stands, staring down at his victim.

He wears simple clothes, all black, fit for blending in with the shadows, his frame is rail thin, as though malnourished but the way he carries himself gives you no delusion that he’s weak.

He raises his head to address you, flipping locks of oily hair out of his face. “Huh…. Your blood smells…. Wrong… You an alien or something?”

“We’re beyond your imagination, parasite, leave this place at once” You command; though you know it’s futile, you feel the need to offer this misbegotten youth a chance to see sense.

“Eh… nah… you know, I don’t think I will… maybe I’m in the mood for alien tonight?” He says stepping over your drone, approaching you.

With a deep breath you steady yourself, combat is so barbaric, but sometimes all a dog needs to behave is discipline.

You extend your range of control, before pulling it inwards to yourself, you feel your body ripple, every muscle and bone at your command.

You grow, your tentacles split and multiply until you can both use them as implements to aid in maneuverability as well as striking weapons.

You feel the superfluous bones within your body melt away as each of your tentacles grow a sharp bone spike.

He suddenly surges forward outflanking you to get behind you, you feel a stinging pain in your neck, this time coming from your own nervous system.

You shove one of your tentacles through his foot pinning him to the pavement before warping your body into a frightening mass of hooks, spikes and teeth.

If he’s going to bite you you may as well return the favor.

Your teeth tear into him, your spikes skewer him, however before you can deal severe damage his form devolves into a billowing black smoke that slips between your extremities and floats up to a nearby rooftop.

He reforms, staring down at you clutching at his gut before walking out of view, you’re feeling rather proud of yourself until you feel a bit cold, raising a hand up to your neck you find your life’s blood draining away.

You pull your tentacles inward putting your body into its preferred form and you seal the pair of puncture wounds closed, it won’t do anything for the blood you’ve lost but at least you won’t lose any more.

Your drone however does not have your natural gifts, you’re tempted to call this night a failure as your drones place the injured drone on a small mattress and carry him home.

In the end your expedition has gotten you 1400 dollars, a bed and possibly some kind of vampirism.
