A Commander from a civilization in the Unknown Regions

The vessel was triangular in shape and roughly the same size as one of Palpatine's Star Destroyers, but its structure was far more sleek and seemingly more alien in appearance compared to the more well-known manufacturers in the Galaxy. Noting how you have yet to be fired upon, you decide to contact the vessel traditionally as you open up a comm channel.

"Unknown craft, this is Master Michael Hazelton of the Star Forge. Maintain present course and state your business."

Silence greets you on the opposite line. You wonder if the crew and captain simply weren't receiving your signal or perhaps didn't understand Galactic Basic. Frowning, you repeat your hailing. If for some reason the message still didn't translate, you would use your God powers to clear any barriers in language.

"Unknown craft, this is Master Michael Hazelton of the Star Forge. You are trespassing in occupied space. Maintain your present course and state your business."

This time, a smooth and calm voice answers you.

"I greet you," the voice states in a clearly male tone. "Did you give your name as Master Hazelton?"

You smile ever so slightly as you begin connecting the dots.

"That is correct. You speak as if you know me."

"Not at all," it replies. "I was merely surprised of the title you carry. Rest assured that I mean no harm to you or your space station. I merely desired a closer look at this... interesting device you own, which until now was absent from this system."

You raise a brow at his admission.

"You've been to this system before?" you ask curiously.

"Indeed. Lehon is one system of many that we regularly patrol for external threats. Until today, it was devoid of any higher technology beyond the Bronze Age locals on Rakkata. The existence of your... Star Forge is a puzzling impracticability."

"I am a man of many talents, but my arrival in this system is rather recent by Galactic standards. Might I ask who is it I am speaking to as well as the government you represent?"

A pause follows, however brief.

"I am Mitth'raw'nuruodo, a Commander of the Chiss Ascendancy Expeditionary Defense Fleet. For simplicity's sake, you may refer to me solely by my core name of Thrawn."

You smile at this new discovery. Thrawn's unexpected arrival saved you the trouble of making first contact. Bringing him into your fold would not only gain you an unrivaled naval commander but it would also open up doors to the Ascendancy's ruling elite, the Aristocra. You make a mental note to brush up on Cheunh, the dialect of the Chiss as it was a dense and difficult-to-comprehend language to outsiders. Even the slightest mispronunciation of its intricate sentence structure could completely alter your meaning. More importantly, your recent lapse in control made you a tad more cautious of blatantly abusing your powers for rudimentary skills.

"It is an honor to meet you, Commander Thrawn."

"The honor is mine," Thrawn replies smoothly. "This is a most intriguing turn of events. The station you currently own was supposed to have been destroyed many thousands of years prior. It is also to my knowledge that such a station was used for war in its past life. It is clear to me at this moment that this Star Forge is producing a small fleet of impressive warships, so I find myself wondering if you are an ally to the Ascendancy or a threat."

"With your permission, I would much rather discuss these matters in person," you venture. "I believe there is much we can learn and gain from each other for our respective causes. You are welcome aboard my station. Alternatively, I can meet you on your ship if that grants you greater comfort of security."
