A Bikini

Zelda decided to wear the bikini. She was an ambassador to the Zoras, not a Zora herself. They couldn't expect her to be naked any more than they could expect her to breath underwater like them.

Really, it was a matter of practicality. The Zoras weren't violently opposed to clothes, but they spent most of their time in the water and lived in damp environments. If Zelda wore something that she could swim in and wouldn't grow moldy, then she'd be fine.

She finished packing her things and rode out to her destination. A Zora greeted her in the river and escorted her and her horse to the Zora Domain, where she was led to her rooms. She took a moment to enjoy the scenery as she walked. Not too long ago, the Domain and all its inhabitants had been frozen in ice, but the damage to their home was superficial, and soon after they thawed out the Domain was as beautiful as it had ever been.

Once she was alone in her room, she changed into her bikini.

She examined herself in the mirror, and her reflection both pleased and frightened her. She looked good. More than good. It wasn't vanity for her to recognize herself as beautiful; it was a simple fact. And the few square inches of blue fabric did little to veil that beauty to anyone who might see.

But … could she really go out in this? The most important parts were covered, but only barely, and she tugged at the strings that held the pieces together, certain that the knots would come undone at the worst possible time. And even if it stayed on, she was far less than half dressed, and any visiting Hylian who saw her would know it.

But Hylians hardly ever came by here. Link had, but he was beyond rare, and by Zora standards, she was over dressed if anything. She nodded to her reflection, opened the door, and went outside.
