“I’m crying because I wanted to be.” She tells you. Now you are really confused. Here is your best friend, the woman who doesn’t want to get involved with you because it would ruin your friendship, telling you she wished you had gotten her pregnant. You have no clue as to what is going on.

“I don’t understand.” You scratch your head as Melody continues to cry.

“I wanted you to get me pregnant!” Is all she says.

“Huh?” Your mind is running in about a thousand different directions. “I’m normally good at picking up these subtle hints, but right now I have no idea what’s going on. What are you trying to tell me?” You tell her. She continues to cry as she lifts her head and looks straight at you. You stare into her eyes for her answer, but it still does not come. Her eyes, even though they are bloodshot and covered with tears and eye liner, are still beautiful.

“I wanted you to get me pregnant because I…I…” She can’t bring herself to say what she wants to.

“Melody, what is it?” You ask in a calm, soothing voice.

“I thought it was the only way to get you to love me.” She breaks down again. This time she ends up on the floor.
