[NON-STORY] Writer's Guide - READ BEFORE CONTRIBUTING!

First off, before anything else - I really appreciate your interest in contributing to this story. Due to how many branches can possibly exist in a CHYOA tale, and thus the sheer volume of written content required to cover all possibilities, it's pretty impractical for a single person to write them all. I'm thus grateful that you've decided to pick up one of the gaps where a branch of this story could exist and fill it in. Thank you!

Now, that being said, I want to give you the tools to make your additions match what I've already posted. As such, I want to share my methodology for the chapters I'm writing:

1.) Pictures, where appropriate.

Writing adult fiction creates some interesting challenges, because the details of the characters and locations involved are way more important than in typical prose - at least in terms of depicting fulfilling sexual fantasies for the reader. At the same time, however, paragraphs full of little more than descriptions of the characters and set-dressing, so that the reader can visualize them later, are dull as dirt. To meet this need without too much boring "she looked like X, Y, and Z" exposition, I'm taking a page from visual novels and using images where they can speed things along to more interesting action/dialogue. My rules for pictures are simple - don't use more an image where words are more interesting, and don't pack a chapter full of images. This isn't a comic strip. In general, I try to avoid using images for more than introducing a new location, introducing a new character, or showing how a character has changed after something significant has affected their appearance (such as a transformation or switch into a new outfit).

2.) Sourcing backgrounds and image storage.

There are literally thousands of pictures of backgrounds available through E-Hentai, located under their "Game CG" category, if you're willing to dig through the lot of them. There are also options available if you Google "visual novel backgrounds," though again - digging is required. To reduce the labor of having to go back and sift through all of this every time, as well as creating a reasonable source to post from to this story (since hotlinking images from most sites isn't going to fly), I've created an album on Imgur to store the images I've found/created for this story. Please message me if you wish to access them, and I'll be happy to share.

3.) Kisekae.

I'm a writer, not an artist. I can't put pen to paper, or pen to tablet, and produce anything remotely close to a likeness for any of my characters. At the same time, however, I don't want to be stuck having to copy other creators' character models just so I can have pictures of them. Kisekae is my answer. Kisekae is a flash-based "paper doll" web-program that lets you make anime-style character images interactively and export them as pictures or a variable matrix (which, when imported into the program, will recreate the original character exactly). Through Kisekae I can make unique characters while still having them look... well, something close to acceptable for public consumption.

As Kisekae's upload feature allows recreation of characters, which is a huge time-saver when you have characters which may need to be shown in later images due to changes in costume or figure, I make it a point to save the "code" for each character I make in a story. For instance, the code for the lawyer in the introduction is as follows:

That may look like gibberish, but if you input it into the Kisekae engine it'll spit back out the man exactly as he was when made. I will thus include a Kisekae code repository for each major character in this story, accessible from this chapter, for everyone's use. I ask that anyone else adding to this story does the same for new characters they may make and introduce.

4.) If this is all too much.

Hey, I get it. You want to write, not fiddle with fiddly flash web apps. That's fine. Talk with me! I'm happy to work with you. I can find/make the pictures for you to incorporate, if you'd like, or even just write out the actual chapter from your suggestions. It's honestly just nice having someone else interested in the same things I am. I find that quite rewarding, and am interested in rewarding your interest by letting you help shape the story.
