'I love you, too!'

"Shana...I don't know what to say."

"Do you....I mean are you...?"

"Do I feel the same way about you, you mean?" She nodded, afraid of my answer. I approached her and gently lifted her chin so I could see her eyes. Those beautiful blue eyes...

I smiled at her, a gentle, caring smile that gave away my answer, I know. She started to smile, hopefully.

"Yes. I'm in love with you, Shana. I have been since sophomore year." Her eyes, her entire face lit up into a big smile. I could've sworn she shed a tear. We kissed passionately for what felt like no time at all. When we separated, though, the wall clock read six minutes later. We spent the rest of the night and a lot of the next day doing all the lover things we'd always wanted to do, but never did, including making love many, many more times.

That was back in the fall, the start of our senior year.

Graduation day was boring, as expected. Not only were the speeches long, boring and completely irrelevant to most of us, but Shana and I had to sit seven rows apart. I know that doesn't sound like much, but when you're in love, seven rows seems like the Sahara. Finally, the principal called the last name and we were dismissed from high school for good. I went to the back room of the place the ceremony was held, fingering the small box in my pocket the whole way. I smiled as I saw Shana come almost running at me holding her diploma proudly.

"We did it!! We finally graduated!" I stood, waiting for her to reach me, because when she did, she was in for the surprise of her life.

Two minutes later, she was crying, giggling and saying 'yes, i will'. I thought i heard applause from everyone else, but frankly i didn't care what they were doing. All that mattered was my frie...my fiancee`.
