'...storm the place and make a hot escape, with my mom, in Epoch.'

" '...We should storm the prison, get info from the guards, grab mom and leave in Epoch.' Is that right, Crono?" Crono nodded. "See? I do know him. Well, it's not what i'd do, but I guess Crono's our leader, so..."

"Well, I guess. But what about me, i'm unarmed, remember?" Marle didn't seem to have a lot of faith in this plan, so she suggested a strategy session before entry.

Later....

"Right! You and Lucca will storm the place, and i'll get Epoch ready to blast off when you get out with your mom. When I see lightning and fire, i'll come as fast as I can." Now Marle believed in the plan more. She ran off to activate Epoch, while Crono and Lucca readied their weapons and themselves. They inhaled deeply.

"Ready?"

Crono nodded.

"Ok, then. Here we go!" Lucca threw a Mega Bomb at the door, which immediately gave way. Crono bashed the door off it's hinges and screamed menacingly as he charged in. Lucca quickly swept the room for enemies, but none were there. Except for Crono's battle cry, it was strangely quiet. They looked around the room, confused, then at each other. They advanced cautiously. The guards now knew they were there, but they lost the advantage of surprise they'd counted on to overwhelm them. It was not turning out well.

Soon they came to two staircases, one leading up, the other leading down.
