Recalling Kortney's warning about the house being bugged, you are immediately careful about what (if anything) you say.

"True," you say simply, nodding in case there are also cameras. "In fact, I was thinking it was very mean of your friend to leave you trapped inside during this nice, hot weather. Is there any way we might all be able to spend some time together outside?!"

Nicole says nothing. Kortney, however, leans her upper body in close to yours.

"I was instructed by your parents to take you to the lab!" she whispers in your ear.

"And I was instructed to go there when I'm ready!!" you whisper back. "I think it's only natural for your 'boyfriend' to spend some time with your roommates!"

Kortney shrugs, nodding. You both then turn to see how Nicole will respond to the question.
