"This Bernie, I have her picture in my wallet."

The breeze ruffled Tatiana's curly blond mane as she sulked in the passenger seat while Gary drove, looking straight forward with her frosted glasses masking her eyes.

As they turned onto the bigger streets approaching the mall, Tatiana said, "Did you say Bernie is your girlfriend? Is this Naomi Bernstein?" she asked.

"Uh, yes," he said. "Why?"

Tatiana laughed.

Gary glanced over, then back to the road. Tatiana was wearing a big smile.

"No, what is it?" Gary asked. He turned into the mall entrance.

"I have picture in my wallet, see?" Tatiana said. "No, wait, pull over, you must see."

Gary turned into the mall and pulled into a parking space near the entrance.

Tatiana opened her beach bag and pulled out a pink purse-wallet on a ribbon-fine shoulder strap. "Very special picture," she said. She unzipped a pocket and opened it into a fan of photographs, picking one to show to Gary.

Gary's eyes widened. After a second of disbelief, he could see it was his girlfriend Bernie.
