“Great!” George exclaims. “I'll start finalizing the paper work right away and get a move in date set up.” The blonde, tanned case worker then places a large hand on your shoulder and says, “I'm going to go over the rules with you one more time, just so you can start getting ready for life with your servant.”

“First off, she gets eight hours of sleep a day, in her own bed. She also gets two hours of time alone in her own room. That means if she says do not come in her room during these times, you do not go in her room. Period. Next, she also has the right to one hour of exercise a day. You must give her access to at least three six hundred calorie meals per day, feel free to use your judgment on what you feed her, but if her nutritionist says to give her something, make sure you give it to her. She must have constant and unrestricted access to clean water. Your responsible for making sure she has all the hygiene products she needs; toothpaste, toilet paper, deodorant, tampons, and so on. We will give you her monthly medication including contraceptive, but any other medical needs she might have will be on you to provide. We highly recommend adding her to your insurance. She will come with a variety of clothes she owned at the program, but you will probably want to go shopping for her soon. Be reasonable when picking clothes, don't have her wear anything in public that would be against the law, and don't make her wear anything that would be a health risk.” George continues on, but as he finishes his tone grows more serious.

“Finishing up, no ****. Of any kind. No hitting, no kicking, no punching, no insults, no belittling, and no threats. Do not lock her in her room, do not restrict to her any part of the house, do not physically restrain her to an area in any way. You will find we take the safety and well being of the servants very seriously. If you violate any of these rules, you can be subject to losing the servant with no compensation and possibly criminal charges, depending on the violation. Both of you will meet with a case worker once a week for the first month and then once a month for the first five months after that. During these meetings she will also meet with one of our nutritionists and physicians to make sure her quality of life is up to par. These meetings are also a good time to bring up any concerns you might have with the servant and making sure she is a right fit for your home. If she consents to give up one of her rights and you work something out, that's fine, but make sure to tell us.” George appears to finish, but takes a breath and gives a final speech.

“Just treat her like a human being and you'll be just fine. Caring for a servant can be one of the most joyful and wonderful experiences you have in your life. Don't do anything to screw it up.” George smiles and then walks you to the exit of the building.

You drive home to your apartment and try to get on with your daily life but are drawn back to thoughts of Jane. In the coming days you spend a lot of time in the bedroom you have set up for her thinking that very soon there will be a real human living in this room under your care. You double check all the hygiene supplies you had bought, including the perfume you picked. When the day comes for Jane to move in you feel as if you will shatter with anticipation. Your gut churns at the very thoughts of what is about to happen.

Finally the ring of the doorbell comes. You hurry to the door and open it. A man carrying what you assume to be Jane's luggage asks for directions to what will soon be Jane's room. Jane follows him into your home and looks around, wide eyed, at the place that is about to become her home. She is wearing a black and white dress with frills that almost appears to be a pastiche of a french maid uniform. You can not help but get chills knowing that in moments you will have the power to know if she is wearing anything beneath it. Before you can think about it, the man comes back and asks Jane if she is going to be OK. After being reassured he gives you a tip of his hat and closes your door with Jane standing in the doorway.

After all the time of waiting it finally comes down to this.
