Chapter 15 by Imhotep

What does Mary Beth say to Amy?

"I'm sorry"

I’m sorry for being so mean. I’m can’t really change how I feel, but I’ve said some things about you that were not very nice, and I want to apologize” Mary Beth took a deep breath, and then a large sip from her drink. The back of her thigh brushed over Bryan’s hand again, and he wondered ho she could not notice. And then it occurred to him that maybe she was completely aware of where his hand was. He smiled wondering just how things were going to develop that evening.

Amy leaned over in front of him, and her hair brushed over his face. “That’s fine” she said and then raising a hand balled her hand into a fist, and then stuck out the index finger in the classic come here movement. A look of concern briefly flashed over the brunette’s face, but then she smiled and leaned over towards the redhead, until their faces were inches apart. For a few moments, neither of the two college coeds said anything, looking into each others eyes, and the suddenly, Amy took Mary Beth’s head in both of her hands, and kissed the girl full on the lips. Mary Beth didn’t seem to offer any resistance, squirming only a little, and wrapping her hands around Amy wrists while they kissed. Bryan was sure there would be a fight or something like that when Amy let Mary Beth go, and Ellen said “Let her go Ames” And then it was over, the redhead let go of Mary Beth, and moved back to her place in the small booth.

“All is forgiven” Amy said with a laugh. Mary Beth said nothing, merely looking at the redhead, and then to Ellen an Bryan before she finished her drink in one long gulp. Ellen gave Amy a shove, “You just have to cause trouble don’t you/” Ellen said.

Setting the glass back on the table top, she looked at Amy. “Good” she said softly. “I don’t want to be enemies”.

“I’m happy to hear that” Amy said, and then whispered to Ellen, “I think she enjoyed that.”

The waitress returned with another round of drinks, and after taking several sips of a tall water beaded glass of something blue and exotic looking, Amy excused herself saying she need to use the bathroom. Ellen slid out of the booth so Amy could leave, and then returned to her place next to Bryan. Over the next several minutes Ellen and Mary Beth discussed classes and teachers, and then the conversation turned to movies just as Amy returned. Ellen started to stand, but the Amy shook her head and moved over to sit next to Mary Beth in the small booth.

“I’ll sit next to my new friend" she said with a Cheshire cat smile.

The next round of drinks.
