That had not been what Tom was expecting. "A...stuffed animal?" he repeated back to her.

She was blushing a little, not meeting his eyes. "Well, yes. Don't you remember...I used to collect them as a child?" He nodded, though she'd given that up long before they'd met. Speaking about it now, he saw there was more emotion there than he realized. "Well, I never wanted to stop. My father made me, told me it...wasn't very adult of me."

Sarah had a lot of grievances with her father, and hearing this didn't surprise Tom in the slightest. "I'm sorry he did that, honey," he told her honestly. "But what does that have to do with becoming one?"

Looking at him directly, Tom could see she was still embarrassed about this, but plunged forward to share it anyway. "That repressed love eventually turned into something...else. I never engaged with it myself, but there are many out in the world who use...well, who use stuffed animals, or rather 'plushies' as sex toys.
