And so it begins

As you slumber, you start to enter a strange dream. What is unusual is that you know this is a dream and not reality.

First you are in a dark void, but the darkness seems to fade away leaving only a light grey area. You are floating in the air with mists all around you.

However, you can sense you are not alone. There is a very powerful being there with you that you can’t see. You can also sense that they look on you in disdain and revulsion. It is as if they consider you pathetic and don’t want anything to do with you, but need to do something.

Eventually you hear a voice in your mind and not through your ears.

“Unworthy mortal, listen well. Long has the Gaia, the Goddess of the world and its Magic, bestowed gifts of magic on mortals, but always have such gifts been abused, misused, disused or destroyed. Some have even dared turn the gifts against Gaia.

“She shall no longer abide it. She has used ideas mortals have created to weave a new Gift that will **** those who have it to serve her, despite their desires and flaws.”

Suddenly there was a sense of amusement.

“And of course we need at least one test subject to see how things we go. You were picked not because of any virtue you may wrongly believe you possess, but because of your flaws. And if you suffer **** or things that will make you wish you could die, no-one of any importance will actually care.”

You suddenly are **** awake with a start.

Before you floating in the air is a screen that clears up as you awaken into what can only be considered a character sheet
