One day, on his drive between work and class, his 95 Ford Thunderbird is struck by lightning. The electric current continues through his body. The next thing he realizes is that his car is wrapped around the tree.

Immediately he wishes that his car was not totaled. With disbelief, he notices that his car is backing away from the tree and that it is forming back into its original shape until it looks as if it had never even gotten scratched.

This makes him think he has special powers.
