Wyatt, Davey’s stepbrother, planned an audacious, diabolical scheme to make his step-mother suffer like she made him suffer all those years when he was growing up … neglect, humiliation … and then finally convincing his own Dad to send him off to a juvenile detention center! He had to watch every day as Davey got all of his mom’s love and attention while he was told to take care of himself and stay out of her sight. She never physically abused him but the neglect and humiliation took it’s toll.

One night, after he and Davey had gone to bed, it began to rain and thunder so hard the house shook. Davey had always been a delicate little momma’s boy and even now that he was almost ten, a year younger than Wyatt, he was so scared that he crawled in his big brother’s bed. That morning Davey’s Mom came upstairs and found Davey in Wyatt’s bed. Wyatt and Davey sat in the living room that morning with worried looks as a long heated argument was going on in their parents bedroom. Wyatt got a paddling that day from his Dad while Davey sat in his Mommy’s lap and was made to watch. Wyatt sobbing, tried to plead his case, but his Dad was so angry. He remembered seeing the smug smile on his step-mommy’s face and even the little wimp, Davey, giggled as his Dad told Wyatt to bend over. Right after that was when Wyatt was sent off, as whispers circulated among the relatives of him being suspected of ‘fooling around’ with Davey. It didn’t matter that the suspicion was totally false.

During his confinement in juvie Wyatt had time to think back on those days. He just couldn’t figure out why his new step mom hated him so much and doted over her own worthless wimp of a son.

Recently Wyatt stumbled on a form of hypnotic therapy that transformed all his anxiety about his childhood years and finally gave him some insight into why his step-mom had made him suffer so. It all came down to the first week after the wedding when his Dad and new Mommy moved in to Dad’s new house. In fact it was that first night in the new house when his new Mom got the boys together to give them a bath. Wyatt was five and a year older than Davey. The therapy was suppose to isolate events in one’s past that were often disturbing to the psyche and buried. He couldn’t interpret her look in his child mind at the time but now as a hypnotic observer he recognized the disbelief in her eyes as she glanced at her own son, then at him. Her attraction to Wyatt’s masculinity over her own small wimpish son made her cringe. Then the disgust and self loathing for that attraction at that moment transferred to its source. Before the wedding, Mommy was so loving to him and Davey, to both ‘her boys’ ... but after that singular event his new Mommy never touched him again.

It’s been several years since Wyatt came of age and left the detention center. Davey was still a timid, wimpy momma’s boy and the only person that it seemed Mrs. Maney loved and would protect with her life. Davey had proposed just last month to his childhood girlfriend, Lily, who is the daughter of Mom’s best friend and fellow teacher Samatha Conley. Wyatt’s Dad had passed away several years ago leaving Mrs. Maney a single mother devoted to her career as a teacher and her son. She had no time for another man in her life even though she at times felt lonely and sexually frustrated. Now that her ‘little’ boy was getting married and moving away from home she began to consider how to deal with her loneliness and frustration.
