In the shadowed depths of a dense jungle, a lone ray of yellow light shines down on the face of a man. With neatly combed back grey hair, and piercing eyes of matching color, the stern-faced man gives off an aura of severity. His dull white robes flutter in a light wind, revealing the layers of cloth covering his form underneath, all one shade of grey or another.

Standing just ten feet in front of him, partially obscured by the dense foliage, is a massive wolf. Its dark, ashen fur blends into the darkness around it, leaving just the sharp glint of its blood red eyes and its large head to mark its presence. The wolf stands in a low crouch, its head still held just over six foot off the ground, as it stares the man down silently.

A tense few seconds pass, neither man nor beast moving.

In an instant, the wolf crosses the ten feet between them, jaws open wide as it lunges towards the man. As it is just inches from digging its fangs into his body, easily fitting its maw around his upper torso, a bright flash of violet light erupts between the two.

The wolf is sent stumbling backwards as its forward momentum is reversed, growling in anger once it regains its footing. The man raises his left hand in front of him as the curved barrier of energy fades, drawing a rune in the air with that same violet light.

Its growl cutting short as it's **** to jump to the side when a bolt of violet energy flies towards it, the wolf resumes its **** on the human before it, lunging forward at the same impossible speed.

The man jumps back, a violet rune on the ground below him flashing with power as he matches the wolf's speed, the two of them nearly touching in the time it took him to move, though he jumped nearly before the wolf.

Landing on a large exposed root, the man skips to the side with another rune just a moment before the wolf kicks off the ground once more, crashing through the space he had just been and continuing on.

They turn to face each other again, the man starting to form another rune as the wolf twists its body around to face him.

A large beam of solid green light blasts down through the canopy, incinerating everything in its path before crashing through the wolf, leaving nothing but a fifteen foot circle of dry earth.

The man looks up into the sky, standing just a foot away from the perfect cylinder of nothing carved into the jungle.

As he watches, a humanoid figure blasts into the distance, cackling with glee as it swings around a long barreled rifle, humming with a dangerous green light.

The man stares at the blue trail left behind by the anti-gravity thrusters for a moment, before blasting into the air with a pulse of violet, arcane runes thrumming with power surrounding his form as he speeds after the figure.

In the distance, a dark form looms, drawing closer to reveal the form of a massive ship, thousands of plasma turrets along its length lit with a blue glow.

The man follows after the figure with the rifle, the both of them not wavering as the sky is filled with countless bolts of blazing blue.

The scene slows to a near halt as the two forces near, stopping entirely before fading away just before they meet.

Another dozen scenes flash by, depicting vast expanses of beautiful wilderness, treacherous fields of clustered asteroids, sprawling mega cities, and endless battlefields.

It ends with a man standing next to a massive turret, a hole in its side as he digs through the mess of wires within. He smiles as he pulls two wires out, quickly stripping them with a tool on his belt before tying the two together.

The turret then starts humming lowly, trembling nearly noticeably as the large bolts of energy it had been shooting become two solid beams that sweep through the air, fading after a while as the upper half of the turret melts.

The trailer for the new game, Forgone Skies Online. Just three days old, millions have watched it dozens of times.

Every person to see the video rushed to buy the game, not even knowing the exact day it would release. They were told within a week of the trailer, but that still meant they could be waiting another four days.

The tension was nearly tangible among every gaming community, expectant gamers waiting with baited breath to try the first game to offer more than a single world to play on. The first game to offer both spaceships and magic. The first game to be so advanced that you actually had full access to all of your senses.

Very few things were said about the game, and even the trailer didn't tell much, but what was promised was beyond anything anyone could ever hope for.
