Chuck Versus The New Development

Chuck Bartowski may look like your average guy, but he did not lead your average life. A little over a year ago, his former best friend turned super spy, Bryce Larkin sent him the only copy of the Intersect, a secret government technology used to house and analyze large quantities of encoded data, which downloaded into his brain. The Intersect changed everything for Chuck. As the human Intersect, he was now an important government asset, and had to be under constant surveillance from two government agents/handlers, the beautiful CIA agent Sarah Walker and the tough as nails, no nonsense NSA major John Casey. Because of his unique abilities, he was a frequent assistant on missions along with his handlers in defense of the United States government, wreaking havoc on his personal life. However, despite the difficulty, he did choose to go on with his "secret agent" life and continue working for the government, partly because he had fallen in love with his CIA handler Sarah Walker, who was also pretending to be his girlfriend as part of their cover. However he was constantly finding ways to remove the Intersect whenever he could.

Life finally gave him a break recently. Chuck discovered that his father who he and his sister thought abandoned them, was really Orion, the creator of the Intersect. After a recent mission, his father removed the Intersect from his brain. In addition to his family being together again, the government paid him a large sum for services rendered, enough that he quit the Buy More where he worked. To make things even better, it seemed that he could finally start a relationship with Sarah for real. Things were finally looking up for ol Chuck, but alas, that would not last. Circumstances led Chuck to install a new Intersect in his head when a secret group called the Ring killed Bryce Larkin and almost killed Chuck and his handlers. To his surprise as well as his handlers, the Intersect 2.0 gave Chuck abilities he never possessed, as he was able to download advanced martial arts skills to take down his attackers. Little did he know that the new Intersect was going to change him in more ways than he knew.

After taking down the Ring's operatives, Chuck went home. He was exhausted as he entered his room. He was stuck with the Intersect again, he cursed to himself, and this time, his father couldn't remove it, at least not yet anyway. While it was still the Intersect, the architecture of the program had changed. Other government people had worked on it and the Ring had killed the other people responsible for the new Intersect. So now, he was once again the last copy of the Intersect. Life was back to being under constant surveillance and lying to his friends and family. Once again, fate was finding a new way to screw with Chuck Bartowski. As he plopped down onto the bed, he closed his eyes and wished everything was just a bad bad dream.

"Chuck!" a voiced called out.

"Gaah" he screamed out, startled as he quickly sat up on his bed.
