The buzzling city beeped with cars and trucks, many returning home from a tiring day at work, yet for a few their day only just started. You watch with a sour expression as you sit on the bench on top of a hill just outside the city. Many times you would come here to relax and enjoy the quietness, away from all the buzzing of the ever busy city. And today was meant to be just like those days, until you came face to face with your girlfriend cuddling up against another man. What shocked you more was the fact she had a brief look of disgust from you catching her in the arms of another.

You were shocked and speechless, unable to speak another word. Against your own best judgment, you sat down right at the edge of the lone bench atop the hill. You didn’t know what to say to your cheating girlfriend, but you do know a singular fact, by the time you leave today. Your girlfriend will turn into an ex and your heart will leave broken. Soon you were finally able to get your bearings together, you decided to quickly leave as you are unable to stomach them in your presence. As you get up to leave, you hear your ex-girlfriend speak after remaining silent from the moment you arrived.

“You don’t deserve me. You never supported me with anything I ever wanted to do. If you think empty praise is enough to woo me, you are gravely wrong.”

You pause from walking away, you stare at the man and your ex-girlfriend who has her embrace among his arms, he didn’t even look back as if your existence was worthless to him.

“Heh.”

You coughed out a chuckle before taking your leave. You didn’t bother explaining your laugh and let them brew in it, if they cared.

‘Never supported you?’ With your flamboyant attitude and worthless skills, you think you could have gotten that job as a teacher at the city center high school, where even years of experience teachers are unable to get in?!’ You spoke in your mind as you thought of your ex-girlfriend’s words. A short walk later, you reached your car, got in, you turned on your car and it was only when you fully sat down did you start to burst into tears.

You thought of all the unfairness and the fact that you could never understand why you can’t find happiness or love. You cried in your car for close to 30 minutes before stopping, realizing that crying in the car won’t lead anymore. You quickly decided that you need a place to calm your nerves.

Where do you decide to go?
