mother's intervention

Before I was able to decide Bridgette's mother called out " Bridgette can I ask you a favor. With Beth here I don't think I have enough supplies for dinner can you take Beth to the store and grab more milk and ground beef for me." Both of the girls quickly pull their hands off of me, and From the look on Bridgette's face, it was clear that when her mother asked a favor is was more like an order.

Bridgette " but what about John?" By now Ms. Green had returned to the kitchen and was looking through the refrigerator.

Her mother frowned "I'm sorry, but I'm not letting my daughter go off with a man I just met. He is welcome to stay here until you get back if he wants."

Bridgette "that not fair.He is a good guy. you can trust him."

Her mother was clearly getting mad " I am your mother I don't have to be fair. Now go." Bridgette instantly jumped to her feet out of fear of her mother's wrath. "Ok ... ok, I'm going." Bridgette then turned to me. "Please stay we REALLY need to study." she gave me a wink before grabbing Beth and pulling her to the door.

Beth " but why do I have to go."

Bridgette " it only fair. I can't let you get more 'studying' than me." Bridgette quickly pulled her out the door leaving me along with Ms. Green.

Ms. Green "well now that they are gone we can talk." She pulled up a chair and sat across from me. Even though she already had a child her looks were amazing, but her stare could shake a man straight to the core, and those beautiful eyes were glaring and me now with a hatred that only a protective mother could have. I instinctively lean back to put some distance between us. "Now John, don't think I'm ignorant. I know clear well what was about to happen here."

"I swear we were just about to study anatomy" I could barely get that out before she stomped on my foot under the table.

"John... Let agree not to lie to each other. I know they were touching you under the table. It's the oldest trick in the book. In fact, I used to do that all the time with Bridgette's father." I was speechless, and I could not look her straight in the face anymore, so she continued. " If Touching is not stopped it will lead to more and I am too young to be a grandmother, but as all parent know you can't beat hormones, especially hormones of young barely legal men and women." she move her foot off my toes and slides it up my legs. "so the only way folks can win is to make sure at least one of the parties hormones are under control."

Stunned all I could say is "what?"

"They won't be back for the next forty-five minute, and my husband won't be back until much later. You can do whatever you want during that time." She stands up and rests her hand on my shoulder. "but if you don't get those hormones in check before they get here. I most insist that you leave as soon as they arrive. "
