Brute Force

...again display the mesmerizing jewel, holding it in front of Diane's entranced ey--

"Cut that out!" Diane quickly bats the trinket from your hand, sending it into a crevice between a bed and a desk. She promptly intercepts your attempt to retrieve it.

"What did you do to my roommate, you fucker? And you were going to do it to me too, weren't you?" She shoves you against the wall, blocking you from escaping. Of course you could subdue her if you really wanted to, but hurting her is out of the question. Not so for her, however, as she starts punching your arm.

Diane turns to her roommate, who stands where you left her, looking lazy and unfocused. "Angelina, are you okay?" she asks. Diane says it louder after her friend doesn't respond.

"She can't hear you," you tell her.
"I KNOW THAT!" she screams, infuriated. "You hypnotized her or something!! Get her out of it!"
How <i>do</i> you get her out of it, exactly?
"Fine, <i>I'll</i> get her out of it." Diane tries to walk over to Angelina but you grab her just as her back turns.

"What the fuck?"

You hold her arms behind her back so she can't get away, and so she can't fight. "Let me go, Asshole!" she screams. Ignoring the struggling girl, you call to her roommate.

"Angelina, can you hear me?"
"Yes..." she dutifully replies.
"Can you hear Diane?"
"No..."
Looks like you still have control over her. "Go get the necklace, Angelina. It's between the bed and the desk there."

"Okay..." Angelina gets on her knees and finds the precious item right where you told her. She seems mesmerized all over again upon pulling it out from the shadows.

"Bring it here," you order, "and show it to Diane." Upon hearing this, Diane begins to fight viciously for her freedom, but fortunately her body isn't as strong as her language.

Angelina comes close to her roommate and holds up the stone from its silver lace, as close to Diane's eyes as they are to her own. She gazes on it intently, as if actually mesmerizing <i>herself</i>.

You tell Diane to look at the shiny rock, but she won't have it, turning her head this way and that, resisting quite well. "I'm not looking at your stupid rock!" she protests. Both Bianca and Angelina succumbed to the powers of the necklace instantly, but it doens't seem to be working on Diane. Perhaps it's because she already knew what was to come, and so she was ready to resist its power.
