just a simple change for now

"I wish that Sarah was my ex-wife and newly adopted daughter."

He exhaled. He hadn't even realized he'd been holding his breath.

It was a tough choice. He was so tempted to make a more radical change - and maybe he would later, he told himself. But for now he wasn't willing to change things further. Simply speeding things up so that paperwork had already been filed and approved was enough.

He looked back to Sarah who was still staring at a pile of papers. Now, however, he could see that it was the divorce paperwork and adoption certificate.

She lifted her gaze to his face. She was smiling with tears of joy running down her cheeks. "Thank you, Tom!" she gushed. "I can't believe we did this ... that you were willing. Our marriage was great but something was always missing. When we started the roleplay as father & daughter - and then started pretending publically a few months ago, something changed for the better. I'm so happy ... Daddy," she cried, taking Tom's hand and pulling him onto the bed with her. She gave him a hug and kiss on the cheek, then turned his head and gave him another, very "undaughter-like" kiss."
