go downstairs

You hear your mother moan from the other room. "Ugh" you sigh before going downstairs to watch TV with your dad. Upon reaching the living room you spot your father on the couch and decide to sit down next to him "what you watching" you ask

"Just the news" your dad grunts.

You shrug and start watching with him learning about current events. The both of you stay there for some time before your mother comes down and sees you. She walks over to the two of you and whispers something in your father's ear. "Really? You don't say." Your father responds "sounds fair to me" he gets up looks at you and speaks in a serious tone. "You should have told us John! Now up to your room!" Shocked at this you stare for a moment but the expression on you dad's face brokers no argument. You silently curse your brother for rating you out as you head up to your room.
