follow the pair

Ruby sat down next to Whitley trying to control her blush. she cant believe how much he had bid on her. after a few deep breaths she finally said, "So Schnee are you related to Weiss?"

"yes she is my older sister," Whitley answered.

"Oh really she never mentioned you before," Ruby said. a moment she realized how rude that sounded and tried to apologize.

"That is okay me and her have never gotten along and she chooses to pretend that i don't exist unless she has to admit it," He answered.

"That's really sad," Ruby said she could never imagine having such a relationship with her sister. the two have always been their for each other and the idea of pretending the other doesn't exist just felt wrong. she will have to talk to Weiss about this.

"Its fine we have always been that way with her focused on getting winters approval," He answered.

"i see," Ruby said Weiss had mentioned her sister a few times and the few times she did it was clear the amount of respect she had for the girl. "If you don't mind me asking why did you bet so much on me," she asked. she had been wondering that since he announced the amount.

"Well their are a few reasons but i guess i can tell you the main three," He answered. "the first was for the auction itself thanks to that first amount people will feel they need to pay more to win. the second was that my father, who gave me the money, wanted me to wage a large amount to show the power of the SDC."

"okay then," Ruby said in a saddened tone. it sound like he had just bid the amount for his the auction and the company and it was just her luck that she was first up in.

"the final reason was because i wanted to make sure no one else could get you," He said. he smiled when he saw the blush return to her face. "Before the auction had started i had already decided on bidding on you. out of all the girls up for bid you were the most fascinating and beautiful of the group."
