On one of his explorations through the jungle Reece came to a cliff face. Looking down he found round a large out-cove. The beauty of the new area cleared his mind of dread as he climbed down to its white beach and clear water. In the center of the out-cove was an old ship. Its wood looked weathered as it sat half sunken, what was once the mast was now a perfect bridge. Climbing onto the boat Reece examined his surroundings for a door. with luck and a bit of **** he pried open a reasonable sized hole in the rotting wood, and slipped into the cabins. Exploring the boat, he went lower and lower into the slant as he traversed. Reece slowly walked through the water as he entered what he thought to be the captain’s cabin. His eyes had finally readjusted to the light and he now saw him. The captain’s skeleton lying in his bed. A diary lay next to his head. As he approached the bones something felt off. Like the air became thicker or pulsed with a heat that felt unnatural. Looking into the diary its words were written in an unknown language to Reece. Maybe Latin or Greek. He didn’t know but the find was amazing nonetheless even if he couldn’t understand what the words spoke of. He though back to his dad and brother, that had only died a little more than a week ago, who would have loved every minuet of his exploration of this island. His dad being an adventurous soul that loved learning about cultures and visiting places related. Reece pocketed the small book that was just big enough to squeeze into his thigh side pocket. Looking further into the slanted room he found a box. Its content was mainly paper and mulch after years of brewing in sea water. Pushing the slush aside a shiny object piqued his interest. It was a ring. Shaped like a snake that wrapped round a person’s finger. It was made of silver and its eyes were icy blue gems. He placed it on his finger and continued to look through the old captains’ belongings. After searching for what seemed like mere minutes, he found a pendant. Its chain was also silver and again a snake decorated it as the holster for an inch circle icy blue gem. He pocketed the pendent and looked further into the room.
