Chapter 69 by Twisted_Fellow Twisted_Fellow

Her feelings for Yoshito? Was he more than a father figure to her? Which trial should she take next?

awaits us all

Blair couldn't help, but enjoy this moment of closeness with Yoshito. Her eyes closed as she felt in both her heart and loins that she wanted more, but that made her smile as she thought, 'When don't I want more?'. However, unlike before, this was the first time she felt that it was truly okay. That for once, someone like Yoshito wasn't going anywhere. It was finally okay to simply relax and enjoy this moment of bliss.

Blair's finger tips slipped around Yoshito's waist as she held him gently, the blue wisp flew by her right cheek, the pink wisp flew by her left cheek, and the yellow wisp flew by her nose. She felt something akin to a kiss upon those spots before they flew off. Those spirits began to encircle the stone that they were sitting on, illuminating it with their light. Both Yoshito and Blair could feel a warmth filling their being, a wave of pleasant calm washed over them. They both felt a smile spread across their lips, feeling a great weight lifting from their shoulders.

Yoshito looked up with a chuckle before saying. "My my, I haven't seen them do this is quite some time. They must really like you, Blair." She looked up to those spirits then to Yoshito and said. "Oh? Well, it's quite pretty. Thank you all for cheering me up. I really needed it." She leaned in and kissed his right cheek gently before slowly slipping her hands from his waist. Yoshito blinked, but his score ticked up to 110. Her eyes looked back down to the stones. There were only three left, black, red, and yellow. She had just gotten over an emotional experience, so fear was out of the question. Hmm, passion should be easy, so that was also out of the question.

She looked over the last one available, the Black Spiritual Stone of the Flame. Its trial was ****, but what did it have to offer her? She looked to Yoshito and asks. "What is this stone's trial?" Yoshito looked down and almost immediately answered. "****. Within its trial your perception of it will be tested. Its finality, its strength, and the bonds it can create as well as destroy. There will be multiple battles you will fight with this one. One of the mind, heart, and spirit. It is one of the hardest yet easiest. If you are strong willed then it is simple. If you are not, then by the time you succeed, you will be."

Blair nodded while starting to reach for the stone, but Yoshito's hand stopped her with his, his other hand moved to rest upon hers as he said. "You needn't rush. These trials will be ready for you, when you are." She looked to him with a gentle smile and said. "As much as I would love to snuggle forever. I will be okay, honest. I will take a longer break after this one. I promise." He looked down to her hand with a nod while saying. "I see. I will still worry, but I will let you do as you will." She felt her cheeks grow warm as she began to blush again. This was certainly a happy moment for her, but she did have people out there waiting for her. Sure, one of them wasn't as endanger as the rest, but still it was a bad situation to be in.

Once Yoshito let go of Blair's hand, she reached for the Black Spiritual Stone of the Flame again. As her fingers grew closer a darkness surrounded her vision and a notification appeared.

****, awaits us all!

Are you ready?

Yes or No?

She blinked at that, but mentally hit, 'Yes.' When she did her vision faded into darkness and a slow, low, yet sinister laugh over took her senses.

Trial three, ****

After a moment the laughter began to fade, but her vision did not return. However, one thing was certain, she was no longer within Yoshito's zen garden. Upon this realization a new notification appeared.

Anubis has noticed you!

No sooner did she read that message then she felt a rather large hand, wrapping around her body, but before she had a chance to fight it off, it pulled her from the darkness and placed her in front of a towering gate. She looked around and noticed thousands upon thousands of souls were passing through this gate in single file. A growling sound like a dog's came from several feet in front of her body, away from where she was looking, coughed before starting to speak. "Hmm, ah. I see. So you're the one Gaia has been going on about." When Blair's eyes focused on who was talking, she was quite surprised to see a rather slender man's body with a pharaoh hound's head. She decided to use Observe, but only received this notification.

Target is too high of a level to be observed.

Anubis began to laugh and said. "Hmm, just what are they teaching you people nowadays? Don't recognize me when you see me? I am Anubis, guardian of the path to the afterlife. Protector of the tombs and cemeteries the world over." He had an odd looking tablet in front of him that soon vanished when he looked up to her and said. "Decided to make **** your third trial? Hmm, interesting choice. In that case, I have a special door for you to go through. No spoilers though, so you will have to find out what is on the other side for yourself."

When he snapped his fingers, a door of bones began to slowly rise from the ground merely several inches away. Anubis sniffed the air around her and said. "Mm, you smell nice. Well, if you pass, I'll have Gaia throw in something extra from me. Good luck, Blair."

Blair had to admit this was rather unexpected. Was Gaia just throwing this in for suspense? Or was it important? With that in mind she began to wonder. What was beyond that door? And what did Anubis mean by something nice from him?

Suspense or was it important? What was beyond that door? What did Anubis have in mind by something nice from him?
