"You're the defacto Emperor of Zakuul now. What better way to cement that than by aligning with their royal family?" Lana suggested.

"You can't mean Senya," the Outlander said.

"Consort of Valkorian, Knight of Zakuul, and mother of the last two emperors. It might give them a sense of continuity that will help things stabilize," Lana said. "Granted, I doubt Koth will like it much, but if you're going to bring Zakuul into the rest of the galaxy, you'll need the support of its people and this would be a way of getting it."

"One, would you really be okay with sharing me with Senya, and two, why would she agree to it?"

Lana shrugged. "She and I have a lot in common. We're both strong in the **** - though I admit the way she uses it is very different from the Sith methods. We're both skilled with the lightsaber, though I'll give her the edge in that. We're both strong willed women who are willing to forge unconventional alliances to serve the greater cause. We're both ruthless when we have to be. You've had faith in both of us even when betrayal might have been considered the wiser course of action. Honestly, my only real concern is whether or not you'd be interested in a woman almost old enough to be your mother."

The Outlander hadn't really thought about the age difference with Senya. He was fairly sure that Arcann was several years younger than he was, and aside from the streak of silver in her hair and a few lines on her face, she didn't look her age. She was attractive, as well, he had to admit. Not just her face or physique, but her confidence, courage, tenacity, and her ability to love - even after her children had rejected her, she had loved them enough to try and save them. And in Arcann's case, she had succeeded.

"I'm warming to the idea. Have you discussed this with her?" The Outlander asked.

"Not yet. I wanted to run it by you, first. So her age doesn't bother you?"

The Outlander laughed. "No, why should it? I was planning on being with you when you're that age, so what's the difference?"

Lana considered that one. "So no trading me in for a younger model, then?"

"No. If I see a younger model worth having, I'll just keep both of you," he teased.
