Yuffie jumps ship!

Yuffie couldn't stand by helplessly as Tifa was led away to an uncertain doom. For all she knew, Tifa would be sentenced to **** once again by Shinra for terroristic activities against them. She decided it was now or never as Highwind was still hovering close to where Tifa was captured. She steeled her nerve and took a flying leap off the starboard railing to the platform below where they had all hoped to recover Tifa.

"You crazy bitch! Whaddya think you're doin'?" yelled Barret.

Yuffie landed with cat-like grace, and spun around to answer. "Rescuing Tifa!" she yelled back. "Do what you have to do! We'll find you!" Then she turned to run in the direction Tifa was taken. Yuffie didn't stop to think of the danger to herself. All she knew was a friend and teammate was in trouble, and she was going to do whatever she had to do to set her free, even if it seemed foolish to everyone else.

Scarlet watched with interest on her monitor screen as Yuffie raced back toward the facility. She also watched as Highwind sailed off in the background, growing smaller by the second. She smiled sadistically. "Looks like we have another visitor." She turned to the captain of the guards. "Do not engage her. Let her enter unharmed. There's no way out once she's in. We'll have her cornered in no time, and I'll have a new playmate for Tifa and myself." She licked her lips in anticipation. Yuffie wasn't built like Tifa, but she was a beauty in her own right. "I can't wait to get to know you better, Yuffie Kisaragi! It's going to be so much fun! I'll make you wish you would have stayed in Wutai with that overbearing, fat excuse of a father of yours!"

Yuffie slipped quietly inside the Shinra complex. It never occured to her that only fools rush in without a plan. She was always one to play it by ear, overconfident in her abilities to improvise and her skills as a fighter. This day she would be sorely tested, and she knew it. She tried to prepare herself for the unexpected, but when the unexpected failed to happen, it puzzled her.

Still Yuffie continued silently down the hall. Then it happened. Barred gates descended from the ceiling in front of her, and in back of her. She spun around wildly like a caged animal, searching in desperation for a way out. There was only one door to her right, and none to her left. "All right, so you know I'm here!" she exclaimed. "I'm coming for you, and I'm gonna make you pay!"
