Your story

"I was an IT guy for a little law firm when this all started. For me, everything went sideways while at work. For the first few days, it was me and a couple of lawyers held up in the office," You chuckle lightly at the memory, "After a couple of days listening to the two of them go on about the 'leagal ramifications' of the apocalypse, I couldnt take it any more and set out on my own," Your smile fades, "That was during the early days, when everyone was hiding in their homes and businesses hoping the whole thing would blow over in a day or two. Me, I headed home and played World of Warcraft for a couple of days until the power went out."

Sue surprises you with a snort of laughter.

When you meet her gaze, her expression quickly hardens again. "I held out in my appartment for the better part of a week before I got tired of cold ramen noodles. By then, you still heard the occasional gunshot, or a car racing through town," You shrug, "I figured if people were still out and about, then it should be fairly safe to go out."

The others eyes are all on you as they listen, none of them making any move to interrupt.

"I was barely out of the appartment complex when I saw a pair of men walking down the street. They were part of a big group, about fifty people. They took me back to their camp and I spent the next month or so with them, helping scavenge and doing whatever else I could to help."

You sigh sadly, "One afternoon, me and Dwayne were out scavenging. We dont know how they got inside, but when we got back to camp, it was overrun by the Infected. I still dont know how we got out of there once they spotted us." You pause for a couple of seconds, momentarily reliving the fear, the chaos, of that day, "A few days later, we got seperated. The next time I saw another human being was when you guys opened the door."
