Your mother interrupts the fun

"Robin? Michael?"

Robin jerks away from you upon hearing your mother's voice. Her face is flush and panicked.

"Yeah?" She turns to the doorway and responds, as the two of you quickly rearrange yourselves into natural seating positions.

"Adrianna told me I'd find the two of you here." Your mother walks into the living area, and gazes upon her children. "I hope you two aren't too bored. Some of us are heading to the beach. I was wondering if you want to join us?"

You feel your neck prickle with excitement. With your parents out of the house, you and Robin could pick up where you left off without having to worry as much.

"No." You reply quickly.

"Sure." Robin blurts out afterwards, and avoids your look of frustration.

"Alright." Your mother nods and gives you a questioning look.

You shake your head. You don't want to go the beach.

Your mother turns around and walks out of the room. Robin returns your accusatory look with a guilty frown.

"We really shouldn't, Michael," she whispers softly as she gets to her feet. "If Mom finds out we were kissing again..."

Again?

Your mind goes blank for a moment. This wasn't the first time you and your sister locked lips? And your mother had caught you in the past?

Somehow, this information only arouses you more. It also reassures you that your attraction towards Robin isn't one-sided.

Your sister turns away when you remain silent, and you watch her walk away.

Then, you turn back to the side, where the black rulebook lay.
