Chapter 26 by Defamir
Who steps up?
Your Phone Does (Defamir)
The silence that hangs between you and your two lovers is interrupted by a vibrating sound.
You hear a giggle and turn to Ollie who says with a wicked grin: "You should turn off your little friend."
She cocks her head towards your nightstand where you see your phone dancing around.
You throw her an mockingly evil glance before saying: "Let's talk later, I am going to take this. The intimacy thing still has some time."
Seeing Vee and Ollie get up however you are not so sure that you really have that much time to wait for that as you feel a little tingle between your thighs.
Shaking your head and trying to get your thoughts straightened you look at the phone again. The display is flashing 'Uncle Joe'. Your aunt's husband. What does he want? He hasn't called in a month or so. You always liked your aunt. She was not like her sister, your mother. She was a free spirit, a rebel and maybe a bit of your role model. Joe, who was an immigrant from Europe was like that too. They both lived close to your current hometown. Which might have played a part in staying here.
With a lot of enthusiasm you ask into the phone after picking it up "Whats up, dearest uncle?" which causes the man on the other end to laugh too. He, however, gets serious again rather quickly.
He seems to be licking his lips and then answers quickly "Astrid, your aunt had an accident." You immediately jump up, moving towards the door but stop when your uncle says "Don't come here right away, I know you, little whirlwind." Your old nickname your extended family had for you stops you, though just barely. The door to your bedroom is already open and both Ollie and Vanessa look at you with concern after they see the look in your eyes. Stopping their questions you put up a hand and try to tell them to wait for you to finish the call.
Joe continues to explain "A drunk driver crashed into her car last week and she had to be taken to the hospital with broken bones."
You gasp in shock and ask "She is alright, isn't she?"
Sensing your distress he takes a breath after which he informs you "No, no, she is alright and driving me crazy again at home, she was sent home yesterday."
You then hear her in the background yelling like she always does with that sweet voice of hers that never sounded angry even if she was. You don't really understand her but you hear your uncle say: "Sabrina, give me a moment, I am as old as you, and I am not as fast as I used to be, I just told her about the accident."
You can't help yourself. You have to laugh, you always loved the banter that the two had between each other. Noticing your amusement your two girlfriends lose their tension but still look at you expectantly. You are still not sure what your uncle exactly wants, but you are sure to think of a possible time for a visit soon. However as your uncle asks: "Could you move in with us, you know now that Sabrina is in a wheelchair for some time we need someone to help us with the house, and well, I have to be on a business trip next week and your aunt won't let me cancel it."
You again let out a laugh and say before he can tell you: "Let me guess she called your boss from the hospital phone that he has to deny your request for emergency leave?"
Now it is Joe's turn to laugh. "Something like that."
He makes a pause before he continues "I know you never wanted to move in with us and wanted to do your own thing, but my little whirlwind, we would need you and we would love to have you here, you can even choose the bedroom."
The only thing you heard was 'need you' and as is your nature you said "Of course, but" you glance at the two other people in the room whose eyes show their increasing confusion "I might have someone with me."
This causes a awkward pause again before your uncle says "Of course, any boyfriend is,"
You interrupt him and tell him "No boyfriend and not just one."
Now he is getting hysterical. You fear he is losing his breath, so loud is his laughter: "Oh, my, god. Wait till Sabrina finds out about that. Little Whirlwind, I am happy for you and of course they can come. Tell me when you are ready to move and I will get the car and the boys to get you and your stuff." Now you remember the reason why you didn't want to live with your relatives. Your three cousins. Two boys and a girl. They all are very annoying, but no backing out now, you already consented. Telling your uncle goodbye and promising to call soon you hang up still hearing him chuckle about the news.
Turning towards your two lovers you make a grand gesture and say "Well I think the moving problem just fixed itself."
They both look at you with surprise and wait for your explanation.
