You take the chance to get out of there

"Do you wanna go Nicole?" You ask.

Your childhood friend nods as she begins bawling her eyes out. A pang of guilt hits you. Guilt that you've let things go this far, and let your childhood friend get this upset. Even the potential danger of the ghost is far from your mind, which can only focus on your weeping friend.

"Come on then."

You stand up and she follows you, whilst the rest sit in silence. As you walk out the door, you wrap your arm around her shoulder in an effort to comfort Nicole. That's when she sniffles "Thanks John."

"No problem. I here for you."

You lead her into your car and start the engine. Before you drive away, you look to Nicole, who's wiping tears off her face.

"You alright?" You ask.

Nicole inhales a deep breath. "Yeah... Thanks John."

"No problem."

You start the engine, and when you enter the road, Nicole says "Can I ask you something?"

"Anything Nicole."

"Could you stay with me tonight? My parents are out of town and I don't want to be alone."

"Of course Nicole. I'll keep you safe."
