You spot a boy who makes your heart melt

You and Andy go down to the cafeteria where the ceremony is taking place, quickly finding an empty table in a corner that allows you to see the proceedings but offers you and him a quick escape if needed. A few more omegas join you. You and Andy become friends with two of them, a boy and a girl who are twins. The boy, Samuel, reveals he had been dating an alpha girl, but he had dumped him because she didn't like his sister, who was the only family he had. The girl, Haven, remained silent, but laughed at the stories the three of you exchange.

The ceremony begins and you tune out when you realize the speech is just a lengthy version of what your advisor had told you. So you look around the room, losing your breath when you spot a handsome boy a few tables away. His black hair matched his wings almost perfectly and you can see that his eyes were two different colors; one a bright blue and the other a dark green. He was mocking the presenter, making his friends chuckle softly.

When the speech concludes and they send you off to grab your plates, you start talking to Andy, Samuel, and Haven about the boy. They can't see him, as he's disappeared in the crowd, but they all encourage you to talk to him the next time you see him. You agree and go get some food while you wait for him to return.

You're too nervous to eat much. If this boy was as nice as he looked, he might have a shot. He returned fairly quickly, but you give him some time to enjoy his food before approaching him. He noticed you only when you lightly tapped his shoulder, even though all his friends were watching you with large eyes.
