How is it?
You play with your food.
Popping a grape in your mouth you chomp down and the juice flows down your throat. “Yummy.” You say with a cute little giggle. You continue to eat for a little while when your magic comes to mind and you decide to have a little fun. Lying back on your back, feet dangling off the edge of the wagon, you set the plate on your tummy, put your hands behind your head, and concentrate on animating the food. Sure enough soon they are dancing and prancing about on the plate. It seems if the items are small enough you can effect many at once. After your little show you then have them hopping up your chest and into your waiting mouth. Snatching each one as it arrives with an exaggerated “Chomp.” About half way through the meal you suddenly decide it might look like you are crazy or evil and quickly shift to your side and go back to using your hands, your grin, however, doesn't fade.
A couple of hours later a woman walks up that you haven't seen before. She has a mop of short brown hair, deep tan skin, deep brown eyes, and a roundish happy face complete with a single dimple on the right. “Hi I am Amarice.” Marcus is my brother. Unlike him I am an acrobat.” As if to prove the claim, she does a rather quick and impressive back flip, landing where she started. “Ta, da.” She adds smiling. She is wearing a rather simple suit of leather armor, that doesn't really cover much. In fact it seems to have more laces holding it together, than actual pieces of armor. That said, all of the important bits are covered nicely, it just offers up quite a bit of skin to look at as well. She seems to carry three weapons, two small daggers tucked into the top of each boot, obviously hidden, yet you noticed them instantly, plus a rather interesting weapon on her right arm. It looks like a folded crossbow, with two bows and two bolts stuck in. “So what is your name?” She asks, walking along following your wagon.
“My name is Lila, nice to meet you.” You say grinning ear to ear, and extend your hand.
Her grin tells you she knew you just got that name today as she replies taking your hand and giving the back a little kiss, “Lila, the pleasure is all mine.” Something about her grin tells you that if you wanted, you could surely take her to bed. “If you decide to stay with us maybe I can teach you a few things.” With that she lets go of your slender hand, and with a little flip and sidestep, disappears behind other wagons. Once again alone, you conjure up a cup of ale, and sit there, content to watch the world go by.
Four hours later, you hear the sounds of life, and standing on the side of the wagon you are able to look over it and see the walls of a massive city looming ahead. The city sprawls forever before even reaching the walls, in what you have heard is a tent city. The wagons go in about half the distance to the walls and stop. The commander walks over to the wagon you have been riding in and calls to you, “Lila. A word.”
Popping your head out you can't help but be a little excited and afraid, not sure if you should disguise yourself as human, or simply go as you are, not knowing how safe it will be for someone that looks like you in the city. “Yes?”
“I have heard you were given some coin. That is good. None of us wish for you to feel like you owe us. You are free to go. In fact, personally, I would encourage you to go out into the world and see it for yourself. I worry that if you stay with us you will always feel like we own you. That said we will be here for two weeks to do our trading. At that time we will leave. You are of course welcome at that time to come with us. As for your look, you shouldn't worry, you are far less odd than some. Your spirit is clean, so you have little to worry from anyone that has magic. As for the others, just be careful and treat them like you would be yourself. If you choose to adopt a disguise, that is fine also, just remember any magic used to conceal your true nature will cause some to distrust you. It will be hard to know what is best in any situation, but I am sure you will be fine.” He turns takes a couple of steps away before turning back, “Go, at least spend some cash, have some fun, and see if you can figure out what you want to do next.”
Hopping out of the wagon, it is still odd the feeling of the dirt under your hooves. You can't help but wonder if you should go buy some armor, weapons or what exactly. Not to mention the decision of how you want to look yourself. Looking to the city with all the tents and tiny shops of the grand bizarre, you decide the first thing to do is...
