{if HowBad =1}There's too much to unpack right now about this whole situation. Everyone will be here in a few hours, and there'll be no time to talk it through.
"Jenna. We need to talk more about this, but for right now, we need to focus on getting ready for everyone." She nods, wiping tears away.
"Yeah. I have to go to the grocery store."
"And I have to make sure everything is good with the pool and stuff." You take her hand, and her eyes rise to meet yours. "I still love you. I don't know what happened that's led us here, but we're going to figure it out. I've loved you too long to just throw it away without a fight." Her face crunches up with love and upset, but she nods. "Yeah...until tonight." She runs to the bathroom to wash her face. She returns looking resolved.
"I'm going to get the groceries. I'll grab Jared and Zoe and take them with me. Do...do you mind making sure the pool, and everything...is ready...here?" She seems hesitant to give you instructions or ask for favors. You suppose not being dragged along to the grocery store is a small silver lining.
"Of course, Jen."
{else}"Jenna. Sit up please. Sit up and listen." She attempts to compose herself, but she can't meet your eyes.
"Jenna!" she snaps her eyes to yours, and they fill with tears again. You grab her hands and hold them between you. "This isn't going to be easy to get through. I have a lot to say, and no time right now; we have to get ready for everybody to arrive. But I'll tell you this much: I've been your husband for 19 years, and I'm not going to give up my wife without a fight. Whatever led to this, we're going to get to the bottom of it, and fix it if we can." Jenna nods, saying nothing.
"Clean yourself up. I'll get things ready around here while you hit the grocery store." She nods again. She gets up and goes into the bathroom to clean up. When she returns, she looks a bit more composed.
"I.... I love you." her voice is small, and quavering.
"I love you too, Jen. That's why this is so hard."

After she leaves, you put the situation out of your mind by busying yourself with the business of getting everything ready for the arrival. You check the chlorine in the pool, the jets in the hot tub, you take the cover off your Javelin and check the oil. Tara pops up here and there, not sure what to do with just you and her in the house, but you just ignore her. At one point, you retrieve your phone and notice 3 missed calls from Kayla at work, but the last was over 45 minutes ago, and you can't be bothered to deal with whatever she's bitching about.
Around 11:15, Jenna returns with Jared, and Zoe trails her in her own car. They must have stopped off for Zoe to retrieve it, and a few more items. You all pitch in together to put away the groceries and liquor, and as the last item is placed in the fridge, you hear the twin honks of horns as two vehicles pull into the driveway.
