You leave

It has been ten months since that day. You remember it vividly. You stood outside the door to your room for several minutes. It seemed like hours to you. You raised your hand to the door to knock. However, the nerves in your hands didn’t allow you to. Your mind had your heart convinced that being around Melody would have only just hurt her more. So you didn’t knock. You turned and walk down the hallway to the elevator. You took the applications out of your pocket and dropped them in the mail. You called your boss and quit your job. Then you saw your advisor to inform him about your transfer. He wished you well and that was it. You were now attending school on the other side of the country. Things were going well for you.
