You kiss Jenna and get a helping hand

“It’s Jenna,” Tom says to you in the huddle.

“Why do you think it’s Jenna?” You asked Tom.

“I’m pretty sure she told me,” Tom said. “She said something about breaking up with her ex-boyfriend over something like this.”

You weigh this in your mind. You wanted to kiss Jenna. Out of all the girls, she was the only one you had really connected with. But if you kissed her, two things might happen. One is you get it wrong, and she will hate you for thinking you think she’s a cheater. The second is you will put pressure on her to make her believe you want to be in a relationship with her. You didn’t want her to feel as if she had to recouple with you if she didn’t want to.

You look to the sky for the answer. You sigh and come to a decision

“I’m going to kiss this girl cause we had a really great time so far, and she’s a nice person,” You say confidently and walk towards Jenna.

As you approach, she doesn’t seem too shocked to see you move to her and take her in and cradle her head with your hands. You gently pull her face towards yours, and your lips lock. You decided to be bold and give her a bit of tongue, which she surprisingly reciprocate. Your tongues danced in each other's mouth and you could feel her hand rest on your chest. The kiss was short, and as you pull away, for a split second you could see a dazed, almost euphoric, look on Jenna’s face like she just woke from a wonderful dream.

The Islanders watching you groaned at your short kiss.

“Come on, Matt, you can do better than that,” Rachel says.

You shrug and go to the baggage note and unveil it.

“And the person who cheated on a former boyfriend with his best friend is…” You open the note. “Jenna.”

You are a bit disappointed and surprised to find this out and that you guessed correctly.

“Oh my god. It was a long time ago in high school, and I only kissed his best friend. That’s it.” Jenna says, turning crimson and laughing.

After that, the last few players went until the last girl picked up her baggage. The score was 3 for the guys and 2 for the girls. Paige was the last girl and prepared to make her way to the last baggage. A buzzing started in your pant pocket as the redhead picked up the blue suitcase and started unzipping it and revealing the note inside.

You clicked yes. Why not? You were beginning to think the AMA was some Truman Show-esque aspect of the shows that the producers were behind to help you succeed on this island.

“Islanders. Which Islander volunteers at the animal shelter and helps animals in his spare time?” Paige says.

You can hear a chorus of “AWWs” from the girl's side of the event stage.

That doesn’t sound like baggage. Sounds like really self-important bragging, you think. Did the producers put that there to paint you in a good light? You did volunteer at the animal shelter a while ago, so it wasn’t a lie. You did it for school credit, so it wasn’t like you were an animal humanitarian.

Paige checks all the boys. She finally settles on Tom, who is standing beside you, and she comes over and plants a deep kiss on him.

After the usual “woohoos” and “get a room” comments from the crowd of Islanders, Paige smugly goes back to the note and reveals the answer.

“The answer is… Matt. Oh, wow, Matt.” Paige announces.

Buzzes go off in your pants as you shrug it off.

“It was nothing really. They are way overblowing it.” You try to explain it and understate it.

“Islanders since the boys have 3 points and the girls have two,” Paige says, reading the instructions from her phone sent by the producers. “That means the boys win.”

You and the other guy celebrate your hollow victory with way too much enthusiasm. Chanting “BOYS BOYS BOYS BOYS” over a meaningless trophy. It was clear this was just for fun, but you felt good anyways.

The group started heading back to the resort, and you check your phone again. New notifications pop up.

Hmm. That was some team-building exercise. But did they really think you became that close with Jenna just after one kiss? You think they gave you waaay too much points for that.

Another loud female shout interrupted your thoughts as you entered the resort doors and return to the resort villa.
