"Rights? Ah well, unfortunately for you there are none," The scientist tells you, though his tone certainly does not sound as if he considers that unfortunate in the slightest. "Free will you certainly have, at least to a degree. You can simply be deactivated, either fully shut down or immobilised if that free will is exercised in a manner I or whoever has authorised control considers unwanted."

"What do you mean I have no rights?" You demand. "Of course I have, even if I'd been sent to prison I'd still have some rights."

"Of course, but then you would have been a living person." He takes on a patient if slightly condescending attitude as if he was explaining something to a child. "But you died, at least as far as **** is determined at the moment. Those rights died with you, now you are a machine, a very sophisticated machine maybe, but still a machine I created. You have the same claim to rights as an automobile or a toaster."

"You are correct that I cannot program you to enjoy having the charging plug up your ass as you so crudely put it." He went on to explain.
